Delta – RBC Foundation has made a $20,000 donation to Delta Hospital Foundation that will go towards purchasing a new Colonoscope for the busy Surgical Services department at Delta Hospital.

A Colonoscope is a thin flexible tube with a camera attached that allows physicians to take photos and videos of the inner lining of a patient’s large intestine.  Colonoscopes are a vital part of diagnostic and screening procedures, helping to detect ulcers, colon polyps, tumours, and areas of inflammation or bleeding.

“We are so thankful for RBC’s long history of helping fund priority needs at Delta Hospital,” says Angela Turner, Major Giving Manager, Delta Hospital Foundation. “Through their generous donations, RBC has helped promote the best possible healthcare here in Delta, and the new Colonoscope will have real impact for our medical staff, and most importantly for our growing patient population.”

Since 1999, RBC has donated over $240,000 in support of Delta Hospital. Over the years these funds have supported the purchase of a number of priority needs for the hospital including a Non-Invasive Ventilator, crash and isolation carts, a Blue Tooth Probe for the surgical daycare program and additional hi-tech tools for the Respiratory Therapy team.

“We are committed to community investment”, says Carmen Ryujin, Manager of Donations, Brand and Communications at RBC. “We see our contributions to Delta Hospital as an investment in the future health and well-being of the community.”

RBC Foundation stays true to its motto of ‘helping clients thrive and communities prosper.’ In 2016 alone, RBC has donated $77 million to registered charities in Canada.  They are actively involved with charitable organizations around the world and they support their employees in their volunteering efforts.
