Legion Branch #289 Donates $6,500 to Fund Priority Equipment at Delta Hospital

Delta - Delta Hospital Foundation is delighted to receive a recent donation of $6,500 from the Royal Canadian Legion #289 Tsawwassen Branch in support of priority equipment for Delta Hospital.

The Tsawwassen Legion has been a longtime supporter of the Foundation.  Since 1995, they have contributed more than $146,000 and helped fund priority equipment for many different areas of Delta Hospital, including the medical unit, emergency department, and residential care.

This most recent gift will go towards the purchase of a new dermatome for Delta Hospital’s busy surgical department.  This surgical instrument is an essential device used for skin grafting, which is often needed following the removal of a skin cancer or an injury such as a burn or similar trauma.

“We are so grateful for the continuous support we have received from the Tsawwassen Legion Branch 289”, says Angela Turner. “We truly appreciate their commitment to the hospital and our community”.

The President of Legion Branch #289, Gary Bain, graciously acknowledged their support for Delta Hospital. “Delta Hospital has helped so many in our community over the years, and we are only too happy to contribute,” says Gary.

The Royal Canadian Legion is Canada’s largest Veteran support and community service organization.  With over 300,000 members in over 1,400 branches across Canada, they make a difference in the lives of Veterans and their families, provide essential services within communities and remember the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for Canada.
