The Harlow and Mary Ann Burrows Foundation donates $250,000 in support of the new Beedie Long Term Care Centre at the Delta Hospital Campus of Care

The Harlow and Mary Ann Burrows Foundation has generously donated $250,000 to Delta Hospital and Community Health Foundation’s (DHCH Foundation) ‘Coming Home’ campaign to build a new long term care community at the Delta Hospital Campus of Care.

“We are extremely grateful for The Harlow and Mary Ann Burrows Foundation’s philanthropic generosity. Harlow and Mary Ann continually support the most urgent needs at our hospital and we are truly honoured,” says, Lisa Hoglund, Executive Director, Delta Hospital and Community Health Foundation.

The Harlow and Mary Ann Burrows Foundation is dedicated to supporting the Delta community in the areas of education, healthcare, and social welfare initiatives. Their commitment to fostering positive change and promoting social justice, mental health, creativity, and wellness makes their foundation a driving force in creating a brighter future for those in need.

Owned and operated by Fraser Health Authority, this new 200-bed long term care community will replace the 92 beds at Delta Hospital’s current facility, Mountain View Manor. The new facility will be named Beedie Long Term Care Centre which will include social and recreational spaces found in a typical home, such as a living room, dining room, activity space and access to the outdoors. In addition, the project will add a 32-space adult day program. An innovative, stand-alone 49-space child daycare facility will also be constructed and create opportunities for intergenerational programming with long term care residents. This new care community model takes lessons learned during COVID-19 into account with designs using the new best practice infection control standards and improves pandemic resiliency while being culturally sensitive to serve a diverse population.
