Delta Ag Donates $50k

Delta Hospital and Community Health Foundation is delighted to announce a gift of $50,000 from the Delta Agricultural Society towards Cardiac Care at Delta Hospital. Their generous gift, along with other gifts from the community, helped Delta Hospital and Community Health Foundation complete a fundraising goal of $297k to bring an echo ultrasound to Delta Hospital. This will transform cardiac care in our community as this is a brand-new service and piece of equipment for Delta Hospital.

The Echo Ultrasound plays a crucial role in faster, often lifesaving diagnoses of cardiac distress; it produces three-dimensional images of the heart allowing Doctors to make split-second decisions. Last year, approximately 2500 residents came to Delta Hospital for cardiac treatment and diagnosis. As Delta grows in population and the demographic ages, it is crucial that Delta Hospital is equipped to handle the cardiac needs of our residents, especially when time is of the essence.

The Delta Agricultural Society has donated over $2 million to Delta Hospital and Community Health Foundation since 1993 Founded in 1888 by a group of local farmers, the Delta Agricultural Society was established to primarily assist in the improvement of farming practices, land cultivation, and livestock breeding in Delta.  The Society has since become a major supporter of the wider Delta community, donating many millions of dollars to community groups, facilities and projects.
