Don and Jill Taylor Make Leadership Gift to Help Bring MRI Services to Delta Hospital

Don and Jill Taylor have made a leadership gift of $500,000 to the Elevating Care: Bringing MRI to Delta Campaign, helping to bring MRI services to Delta Hospital and expand access to diagnostic care for Delta residents.

The Taylor family’s gift is among the campaign’s earliest major investments, helping turn the vision of MRI services at Delta Hospital into reality. Their support will help ensure local residents have timely access to advanced diagnostic imaging within their community for years to come. Launched by Delta Hospital and Community Health Foundation, the campaign aims to raise $18 million to fund the MRI equipment and renovations required to establish MRI services at Delta Hospital.

For the Taylors, the decision to support the project was rooted in their deep connection to Delta and their belief that local access to healthcare matters.

“We have been fortunate to call Delta home for the past 10 years, and during that time we have come to appreciate how important Delta Hospital is to us and our community,” said Don and Jill Taylor.

“When we learned about the MRI campaign, we felt that having advanced diagnostic technology right here in our own community was long overdue. It will help thousands of people receive important diagnostic care closer to home.”

The new MRI service is expected to provide up to 10,000 scans annually and will reduce the need for Delta residents to travel outside the community for diagnostic imaging appointments. Last year alone, more than 5,400 Delta residents travelled elsewhere for outpatient MRI services. Demand for diagnostic imaging continues to grow as Delta’s population expands and ages, underscoring the need for enhanced healthcare services within the community.

“Don and Jill Taylor’s generous gift is helping turn a long-held community vision into reality,” said Lisa Hoglund, CEO, Delta Hospital and Community Health Foundation. “Their generosity is creating momentum for this campaign and bringing us closer to a future where Delta residents can access MRI services in their own community. We are deeply grateful for their support and confidence in this important project.”

The Taylors hope their contribution will inspire others to support the campaign.

“We were pleased to help launch this campaign with an initial commitment of $500,000,” said the Taylors. “What matters most to us is knowing that our contribution will help improve access to healthcare for people in our community. We hope others will join us in supporting a project that will make a lasting difference for Delta residents and their families.”

The MRI project is a partnership between Fraser Health and the Delta Hospital and Community Health Foundation. Fraser Health will oversee construction, staffing, and operations, while the Foundation is responsible for raising the $18 million needed for equipment and renovations.
