Legacy Giving: John Ayres

September 9, 2022

Legacy Donor: John Ayres

John Ayres is remembered as a wonderful man who was passionate about giving back to his community, and in particular, through Delta Hospital and Community Health Foundation. John was thankful to have access to quality health care services at Delta Hospital which helped him battle several health-related issues over the years. Through several discussions with the Foundation, John decided to leave a gift in his Will to support the important work that happens daily at Delta Hospital.

John was born in Vancouver and spent his childhood in Kitsilano with his family. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force during WWII and was classified as an aircraft mechanic, but his work was as an artistic sheet metal worker. He worked on aircrafts throughout the US and Canada and ended his dedicated career with CP Air in Richmond, BC.  Sadly, John passed away in July of 2018. However, his legacy will always be remembered because of his dedication and commitment toward Delta Hospital and Community Health Foundation.

Making a bequest in your Will is a wonderful opportunity to support the Foundation, without giving up assets during your lifetime. A gift in your Will can also have significant tax savings for your estate. When you make a gift through your Will a charitable tax receipt is issued to your estate which can help to reduce or eliminate your taxes. Most importantly your gift will have a lasting impact for future generations and are vital to Delta Hospital in meeting the growing needs of our community.
