New CT Scanner is operating at Delta Hospital thanks to generous community support

A new state-of-the-art CT Scanner is operating at Delta Hospital, thanks to $1.7M being raised through DHCHF’s Signature Events and generous community donations. This new scanner has replaced an older model that was nearing the end of its life span. The campaign was anticipated to take 2 years but due to the overwhelming generosity from event sponsors, attendees and donors, the Foundation was able to fulfill their commitment in record time.
“Right now, more than ever, it is critical that Delta Hospital has access to the latest and best technology,” said Lisa Hoglund, Executive Director, Delta Hospital and Community Health Foundation. “We are grateful for the unwavering support from our donors which enables us to continue to provide the best possible healthcare to our residents.”
A CT Scanner is a vital diagnostic piece of equipment that provides critical information leading to the diagnosis or the ruling out of many medical conditions and diseases such as aneurysms, tumours, strokes, kidney stones and appendicitis. The improved image and quality of the new CT Scanner allows for more accurate diagnoses, faster scan times and innovative diagnostic technologies. Last year, over 8,400 scans were performed at Delta Hospital, including both emergency and trauma scans as well as scheduled scans.
