Delta Hospital and Community Health Foundation (DHCH Foundation) is proud to announce that long-time Delta resident Foon Ivy Tam made a generous $100,000 donation towards the ‘Coming Home’ Campaign for the new Beedie Long Term Care Centre to replace Delta Hospital’s current facility, Mountain View Manor. This meaningful contribution helped the Foundation reach its initial fundraising goal of $18.25 million, marking a major milestone for the project.
Ms. Tam, inspired by the opportunity to make a lasting impact on seniors’ care in her community, chose to support the project to ensure future generations receive the compassionate, home-like care they deserve.
The new long-term care community will replace the aging Mountain View Manor, which opened in 1977 and currently serves 92 residents. The new facility will more than double capacity and offer a modern, home-like environment with inviting living rooms, dining areas, activity spaces, and access to the outdoors. It will also include a 32-space adult day program and an innovative 49-space child daycare facility, fostering opportunities for intergenerational programming.
“We are sincerely thankful for Ms. Tam’s generous donation towards our ‘Coming Home’ Campaign,” says Jodi Stokes, Director of Legacy & Leadership Giving, DHCH Foundation. “Her support helped us cross the finish line and reach our $18.25 million goal. Our seniors are the heart of our community, and this new centre will provide the respectful, patient-centred care they deserve in a setting that truly feels like home.”
